Continuous Insulated Panels
PTU RF Series — Rigid PUR & PIR Foam Systems
Product Features
PTU supplies formulated rigid polyurethane (PUR) and polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam systems for manufacturers producing continuous insulated composite panels. Each system is developed to suit the customer’s production equipment, panel design, processing conditions and performance requirements.
During the continuous panel manufacturing process, the polyurethane system is dispensed from a machine mixing head between facing materials such as steel sheet or aluminium foil. As the panel passes through the production line, the foam reacts and expands to fill the cavity while bonding to the facings and curing to the required panel thickness. The finished panel is then cut to the required length.
PTU can formulate foam systems to achieve the required density, processing characteristics, thermal insulation performance and, where required, fire-performance properties appropriate to the panel design.
Typical Applications
Continuous insulated panels are widely used for:
Cold rooms, Cold storage facilities, Temperature-controlled buildings, Modular construction
Excellent Thermal Insulation
Rigid PUR and PIR foam systems provide low thermal conductivity, helping reduce heat transfer and improve the thermal efficiency of insulated panels. Actual performance depends on foam formulation, density, panel construction and service conditions.
Lightweight Construction
The low-density foam core provides high insulation performance while contributing minimal weight to the finished panel, supporting efficient handling, transportation and installation.
Moisture Resistance
The closed-cell structure of rigid polyurethane foam provides good resistance to moisture ingress when incorporated into a properly designed and manufactured panel, helping maintain long-term insulation performance.
Tailored System Performance
PTU formulates each foam system to suit the customer's manufacturing process and required balance of thermal, mechanical and dimensional properties.
Responsible Blowing-Agent Selection
PTU selects blowing-agent technologies appropriate to the application, performance requirements and applicable regulations. Where suitable, this may include technologies with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and reduced global warming potential (GWP)
