PTU Cold-Cure Polyurethane Elastomer Systems
PTU supplies formulated cold-cure polyurethane (PU) elastomer systems used by manufacturers to cast a wide range of finished components and parts.
Cold-cure PU systems are mixed and poured into suitable moulds, where they react and cure without the need for elevated-temperature oven curing. Depending on the formulation, the resulting elastomer can range from soft and flexible through to hard, tough and highly durable materials.
These systems are suitable for prototyping, development work, short production runs and selected end-use components where the required combination of hardness, resilience, abrasion resistance, strength and dimensional stability can be achieved through formulation.
PTU cold-cure systems provide a practical route to producing polyurethane elastomer components with properties tailored to the application, from soft flexible grades through to hard, tough materials.

Room-Temperature Processing
Suitable cold-cure systems can be mixed and cast at or near ambient temperature, reducing the need for heated moulds or curing ovens and allowing relatively simple processing equipment to be used.
Wide Hardness Range
PTU formulations can be developed across a broad hardness range, typically from approximately 20 Shore A to 60 Shore D, depending on the specific system and application requirements.
Tailored Physical Properties
Formulations can be selected or developed to provide the required balance of hardness, resilience, tensile strength, tear resistance, abrasion resistance and dimensional stability for the intended application.
